Sherlock Director Rumoured To Direct Next James Bond Movie

Much have been said about Sherlock‘s unique visual flavour – for instance, the novel approach for showing text on screen. Well, the main architect behind this part of the show is director Paul McGuigan. McGuigan worked on four episodes of the show’s first two seasons – namely, ‘A Study in Pink’, ‘The Great Game’, ‘A Scandal in Belgravia’ and ‘The Hounds of Baskerville’ – before moving on to other projects. And his latest project could be his biggest one yet…

Indiewire is reporting that McGuigan is the top choice for the next James Bond film, the 25th in the franchise. Current 007 Daniel Craig is thought to be reprising the role one last time before Bond 26 would hand the role to someone else.

McGuigan’s career has been going from strength to strength in recent years so a Bond movie a major, if natural, next step. His big-screen directorial credits include Lucky Number Slevin, Push and Victor Frankenstein. He has also directed a couple of episodes of Marvel superhero show Luke Cage.

If McGuigan does get the job, this won’t be the first connection between Sherlock and James Bond. Moriarty himself Andrew Scott featured in the previous movie in the franchise, Spectre
