At last! The planned start date for the next series of Sherlock has been revealed…
Paula Kerger, the president of PBS (the American broadcaster of Sherlock), has announced that: “We do have the next Sherlock announced, that is coming up about a year from now.”
Some fans may groan at the news we have to wait another year but at least it will only be twelve more months after we’ve just had the one-off special ‘The Abominable Bride.’ This should also not come as a surprise as series two and three both aired in January as well.
Kerger also reiterated the issues with making Sherlock. “As you know, Benedict has gotten to be somewhat popular since we began our work with him and he very much wants to continue with Sherlock. As you know, they are produced almost like films, and we’re hoping the next one will be about a year from now.”
The news was revealed at the PBS executive session at the 2016 TCA winter press tour Monday 18th January.
