Seeing as Benedict Cumberbatch becomes Marvel’s latest superhero this year with Doctor Strange, it stands to reason that, sooner or later, we will see him team up with the franchise’s other heroes – like other Sherlock Holmes Robert Downey Jr – in the Avengers movies. Thanks to a behind-the-scenes snap, however, it looks like we will be seeing Strange rub shoulders with another Avenger sooner than we thought. If you don’t want to know any spoilers for Marvel’s upcoming movies, this is your last chance to look away.
On the set of Thor: Ragnarok in Australia, an image taken from filming sees star Chris Hemsworth holding a card with an address on it. While that sounds fairly innocuous in itself, the address hints to an unexpected team-up.
Yes, it looks like the God of Thunder will turn to the Sorcerer Supreme for help in the next Thor movie. Ragnarok will also see Thor patner up with Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. Perhaps Hulk has gone on the rampage again and the Asgardian needs the master of the mystic arts to stop him?
This also suggests that Cumberbatch might get to share some scenes with Tom Hiddleston, who will also appear in the film as Thor’s fan-favourite wayward brother Loki. This will definitely please those who are hoping to see the actor appear in Sherlock next series as the rumoured third Holmes brother.
Doctor Strange arrives in this dimension on October 28th for UK cinema goers and 4th November in the US. Thor: Ragnarok, meanwhile, lands 3rd November 2017.
